Pamporovo resort complex is an established ski destination with over 85 years of history. It is located in the central part of the Rhodopes - at 1650m. above sea level, at the foot of Mount Snezhanka. Pamporovo is located 15 km away. from the town of Smolyan, 10 km. from the town of Chepelare and about 90 km. from the city of Plovdiv. The climate in the area is moderate with a Mediterranean influence, mild winters and over 240 sunny days a year. The average annual temperature in the resort is 5.5 °C.
Almost all ski slopes in the resort start from Snezhanka peak (1926m), and their altitude varies from 1926m. up to 1400m. The ski season starts at the beginning of December and lasts until the end of April. In winter, the snow cover reaches over 2m.

Snowshoes are a wonderful way to walk in the mountains in winter. The route passes through the area of Orfeevi skali, the Pamporovo dam, the Studenets ski center and ends at the Pamporovo Tourist Center. The price includes snowshoes, poles, lift and guide.
For horse riding lovers, various treks or riding lessons with professional instructors can be organized in Pamporovo.
